Dear Colleagues,

The aim of this forum item is to exchange ideas, review Arabic terms and validate new ones to be added in our Water Thesaurus: http://www.emwis.net/portal_thesaurus

We are looking forward to make a review each 6 months (depending on the quantity of your feedbacks).

Please feel free to participate and do not hesitate to comment us whatever can be of interest for the aim of this working group. Many thanks in advance for your collaboration.

Dear All,

WaDImena is currently in the process of producing a second edition of a Water Demand Management glossary of terms in English, French and Arabic. This glossary contains more than 800 terms with definitions, and will soon be available on our website www.idrc.ca/wadimena. Now that we know of the work of the EMWIS water thesaurus, it seems like a good opportunity to coordinate efforts in this regards, we may put forward these words to be added to the EMWIS thesaurus for example.

Our WHO. Regional Centre for Environmental Health Activities is maintaining the Arabic version of the Interwater Thesaurus which is an expanded and Arbized version of the IRC Interwater Thesaurus. It is closely linked to your thesaurus particularly is subjects such as drinking water, water related diseases and hygiene. We are ready for collaboration with the EMWIS Arabic Water Thesaurus Working Group.
