Interactive regulation of phytoplankton succession by physical forcing and internal phosphorus loading: a comparative study in eutrophic freshwater lakes
- This project combines the improvement and field application of an
innovative on-line monitoring tool for phytoplankton diversity in lakes
(Delayed Fluorescence spectrometer) with a simulation modelling approach
aimed at the prediction of phytoplankton responses to different phosphorus
loading scenarios, including internal P-loading in lakes under various
climatic condition.
- This combined approach will contribute to an improved knowledge about
eutrophication processes in lakes and will lay the basis for better remedial
water management approaches.
