Project Comprehension of the occurrence of a pollution diffuses on the drinking water resource. Definition of plans of prevention.

- The interest of the project lies in the multiplicity of its objectives. With regard to the public health, "Aquanet" aims improving and at ensuring the quality of drinking water for the population. Strategies of action and reduction of pollution of the drinking water resources were proposed after a diagnosis on the causes and sources of pollution.
- As for the legal objective, the project wishes to conform to the national and European regulations as regards management of water and, for that, set up of the adapted treatments, defined the vulnerable zones and bench of the action plans. Lastly, for the objective of co-operation, the project privileged the experience sharing in order to sensitize a broad territory. The guide good practices as regards control of pollution on the drinking water resources should be published and diffused on broad scale in order to apply the results to very diverse Mediterranean communities.

Objectives "Aquanet" aims to define a common method to meet the needs for the communities in the respect of the objectives of the European framework directive as regards integrée management of water (of the 23/10/2000). The project intends for that to arrive to a brought up to date and total knowledge of the resource, to identify the good products of measurement and management of the data gathered for integrée management of water, to share knowledge between partners, to create specific measuring instruments of the aquatic environments, to develop tools of decision-making aid and, finally, to envisage on the long term the drinking water deepening in the Mediterranean zones.
