About this site

This website was launched in the framework of the feasibility study of a Mediterrranean water observation mechanism carried out in 2006-2007 following the mandate given to EMWIS by the Euromed water directors in November 2005.

Now, it supports two projects granted bythe DG Environment of the European Commission under the Thematic Programme for Environment and sustainable management of natural resources, including energy -ENRTP-, respectively entitled:

Towards a Mediterranean Water Information Mechanism compatible with the Water Information System for Europe -WISE, from 2008-01-01 to 2010-06-30
Towards a Euro-Mediterranean Water Information System, from 2009-01-01 to 2010-06-30
