Event UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo Briefing: Water Resources Management in the Arab Region

UNESCO Cairo Office in jointly with the Arabian Gulf University, UNEP and IUCN organize the Steering Committee Meeting of the Arab Water Networks and the Expert Group meeting on IWRM in the Arab Region in Manama, Bahrain 22-25 March 2007. More than 28 water experts from the Arab region and abroad will participate in these meetings.
During the steering committee meetings, the achievement of the Wadi Hydrology Network, Groundwater Protection Network, Water Use Ethics Network will be presented and evaluated. Future regional priorities, themes and overall workplan of the network will be determined and approved. Moreover, the status of the IWRM applications in the Arab region will be reviewed and discussed during the IWRM expert group meeting. IWRM priorities and possible joint cooperation in the Arab region will be identified during the meeting in addition to the preparation of the Arab water Development Report.
