4-day Workshop on Environment Economic
A 4-day Workshop on Environment Economic valuation will took place in
Damascus, on 10-13 December 2007. The Workshop held under the patronage by
Eng. Helal Al-Attrach Minister of Local Administration & Environment and
with the support of the Swiss government (SDC), falls under the MESO
Programme for Syria in order to build national competences in environment
economics.
In this respect, Ecosys and sba are partnering with the Syrian Ministry of
Local Administration and Environment (MoLAE) and the General Organisation
for Cement and Building Material (GOCBM).
The Workshop will focus on the transmission of methodology regarding
environment damage assessment, evaluation of inefficiency costs as well as
remediation costs. The aim is to build a decision making tool for priorities
vis-à-vis environment action.
