IPCC-OSS Outreach Event: Regional outreach workshop on the findings of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report

The Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and the IPCC Technical Support Unit are jointly organising a regional outreach workshop on the findings of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report. The workshop, which is aimed at African researchers, will take place on 29-30 April 2008 in Marrakech, Morocco. To be considered for participation, participants should submit their application no later than 5 April 2008.The objective of the workshop is to disseminate the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report findings to African researchers and scientists, in particular those of the circum-Saharan region.

The various presentations and discussions will cover the following topics:
·   The physical science basis of climate change;
·   Vulnerability, impacts and adaptation;
·   Mitigation of climate change;
·   The research needs for Africa.
