Event First International Conference on Remote Sensing Techniques in "Disaster Management and Emergency Response in the Mediterranean Region"

The subject "Disaster Management and Emergency Response" is a high-priority topic in the Mediterranean region. Risk reduction using remote sensing techniques may be very helpful in various applications. Identification of relevant space-based and airborne information for Disaster Management Support and Emergency Response is a major priority issue.

The Conference is expected to provide an international forum which will bring together experts from different remote sensing and GIS branches as well as experts from disaster management to present and discuss their results, and to exchange their experiences and expertise in Disaster Risk Reduction, using new technologies, development and applications.

The Conference will cover several stages in risk management, such as knowledge, prevention, warning, management of emergency situations, post-analysis of crisis, environmental rehabilitation, etc.

IMPORTANT DATES:
   Deadline for submission of abstracts: 29th February, 2008 (max. 750 words)
   Notification of acceptance of abstracts: 31st March 2008
   Preliminary Program: 15th May 2008
   Deadline for full papers: 22nd September 2008
