Workshop on Water Governance Benchmarking
The workshop will review concepts of water governance and benchmarking, identify primary water sector challenges facing each country, and develop the approach to be used in assessing water governance capacity and performance in participating countries.
The objectives of this workshop are:
- To familiarize participants with project concepts and approaches
- To identify 3 key water sector challenges for each country
- To assemble country legal and policy documents and develop a list of key water resource organizations in each country
- To review and revise a list of widely-shared water resource management functions
- To elaborate a field methodology for developing country water governance profiles and populating water governance indicators.
