MEDSTAT Directors’ Committee Meeting
The next meeting of the MEDSTAT Directors Committee (DC) will be held in Luxembourg. The main issue to be discussed is a proposal for the strategy of future regional cooperation instatistics.
The subject has been treated in several occasions, but the currentconditions in the region after the Arab Spring call for a fresh view to support therenewed EU-MED policies and the needs of societies in the MED countries.
Other important issues to be dealt with are quality in statistics and the elaboration of a regional code of practice.
A proposal for the work programme forthe extended period of MEDSTAT III (May 2012 - December 2013) will bepresented.
The participants to the DC were also informed that the 2012 DC will be held back to back with the Quality Conferencein Greece in the week of 28 May - 1 June 2012.
