Call for abstracts for the IWA WATERLOSS EUROPE Conference: This conference to be held in Ferrara (Italy) next 23-25 May 2012; addresses a very timely topic- water loss management in Europe.

A special fund will cover the participation cost for the best abstracts "under 32 years old" presenters.

All authors will be notified as to whether their abstracts have been accepted or not until 20 of January 2012.

Water Loss Europe 2012 is intended to present and discuss the latest developments, strategies, techniques and applications of international best practices in Non-Revenue Water Management. The event will include reports from international experts on the latest research topics and project investigation group set up by the WLTF. Additionally IWA leaders will announce and discuss proposed strategies to influence a greater number of European water utilities to be pro-active in reducing water losses.

The Conference is the first regional event following a series of successful IWA water loss reduction specialty conferences, like "Water Loss 2010" that was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil in June 2010 with
630 participants from more than 30 different countries from around the world. Water Loss Europe 2012 was brought to Europe to address the pressing need for improved water utility efficiency in this part of the world. This event is jointly hosted by University of Ferrara, Hera and Iren water utilities and Accadueo Water Fair. The conference will allow delegates to present and discuss a range of water loss management topics, including: Meter accuracy improvement, NRW analysis and auditing, Pressure management, Financing of NRW projects, NRW management strategies, Case studies and New technologies, Training and certification concepts, NRW management communications strategies, Outsourcing of NRW management, NRW in the EC access countries, NRW and EC policies, Improvement of metering and billing systems, NRW data capturing and management, Leakage detection and modeling, etc..

A specialized trade show, organized in collaboration with Accadueo Water Fair (www.accadueo.com) the main water fair in Italy) will provide an ideal opportunity for delegates to meet with suppliers of services and products relating to all aspects of water loss management as well as water distribution.

An ‘Early Career Water Loss Symposium’ will be held at Ferrara University to serve as an opportunity for students (and those recently graduated) to engage with their peers, to foster contacts and to participate in an important developmental exercise of presenting their work and encourage their interest in the subject.
