8th HyMeX Workshop

The 8th HyMeX workshop will take place in Valletta, Malta, from 15 to 18 September 2014. It will be held at University of Malta Valletta Campus, which is housed in the Old University Building in town.

Objectives and programme

Beyond the general objectives of the HyMeX workshops to strengthen the scientific links, stimulate the exchange of knowledge and promote cooperation among the HyMeX community, the 8th HyMeX workshop will focus on : 
 - results from the Special Observation Periods and Enhanced Observation Period, 
 - use and analysis of long-term observations, including satellite products, 
 - multicompartment, multiscale modelling, 
 - human-environment interactions, 
 - cross-cutting activities, 
 - HyMeX-related future field campaigns. 

Call for abstracts – extended deadline : 19 May 2014

The programme will consist of plenary oral and poster sessions. We invite you to submit a short abstract for oral or poster presentation in line with the research objectives of HyMeX on : 
 - the water budget of the Mediterranean Sea, 
 - the continental hydrological cycle and related water resources, 
— heavy rainfall, flash-floods and floods, 
— intense sea-atmosphere interactions induced by strong winds, and dense water formation, 
 - societal and economic impacts.

Meetings of HyMeX Science teams and Working Groups are encouraged to be organized as parallel sessions of the workshop.
