MEWINA Final Workshop and Donors' Round Table Meeting

In 2011, the Centre for Environment and Development in the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE), the African Water Facility (AWF) and the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) teamed together to implement their shared vision of launching a unified and consistent monitoring and evaluation (M& E) reporting mechanism for the water sector in North Africa.

This collaborative effort resulted in the implementation of the "Monitoring & Evaluation for Water in North Africa, MEWINA" Project, covering five North African countries: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania and Tunisia.

On the Occasion of the project closure, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you, or your representative, to attend the MEWINA Final Workshop and Donors’ Round Table meeting on 16-18 March 2015, Cairo. This high-level gathering aims at sharing the Project’s key outputs. These include the State of Water Reports at the national, regional, and shared basins and aquifers levels, as well as the Operational Framework and Guidelines for Monitoring and Evaluation and the Regional Action Plan for the second phase of the project..

It will also be a good opportunity to shed light on future outlooks and explore donors’ interest in the forthcoming phase of MEWINA by presenting a Regional Water Sector Monitoring and Evaluation Action Plan for North Africa.
