6th International Symposium on Hydraulic Structures

On behalf of the Technical Committee on Hydraulics of Dams of the United States Society on Dams (USSD), and the Hydraulic Structures Technical Committee of the International Association for Hydro-Environmental Engineering and Research (IAHR), it is our pleasure to invite you to the 6th International Symposium on Hydraulic Structures (ISHS 2016) that will take place on 28th-30th of June, 2016 in Portland, Oregon, USA.

This Symposium will bring together domestic and international expertise from research, practice, and implementation in a forum for knowledge exchange and networking discussion on critical issues related to hydraulic structure research, performance, operations, maintenance, and community implications.  This series has a rich tradition of stimulating interest on advancement in the development and use of hydraulic structure elements and systems.  The Symposium will inform and instigate discussions on advanced tools, applications, and unique approaches needed to develop and implement more effective, environmentally sound, and robust solutions.

We are very pleased to announce that the ISHS 2016 technical program will include:

• Technical Sessions on Hydraulic Structures
• Keynote Presentations
• A Technical Workshop on "Water Systems Management"
• A Technical Tour of hydraulic structures on the Columbia River

This event also provides an excellent opportunity to experience the City of Portland and explore Oregon.
