Public session on 'Water and Jobs'

The MEP Water Group, in cooperation with the UN World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) of UNESCO, UN-Water and the UNESCO Liason Office in Brussels, will hold a public session dedicated to the theme 'Water and Jobs' on the 28th of September from 13h00 to 15h00 at the European Parliament, József Antall Building, Room 6Q2. The event is taking place under the patronage of the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Based on the UN World Water Development Report (WWDR 2016) produced by WWAP on behalf of UN-Water, the session will address the water jobs nexus, highlighting the enabling role of water for the European economy and labour market and will call decision makers' attention to the negative impacts of water scarcity for the socio-economic and environmental sustainability of our society.
