“Water Security Nexus in North Africa: Catalyzing regional coordination around climate change, resilience and migration”
The CMI’s Youth Regional workshop aims to amplify the voice of the youth on water-related challenges and will seek to highlight the important roles of the youth in working towards regional water security. It will do so through knowledge creation to inform decision-making and through entrepreneurial initiatives to address current regional challenges related to the nexus between water, climate change and migration. This Youth Regional Workshop is also a key milestone in the forthcoming CMI-led study on “Water security nexus in North Africa: catalyzing regional coordination around climate change, resilience, and migration”, funded by FCDO. It will serve to integrate youth perspectives in the analysis of the study and prepare to discuss them with regional stakeholders during the forthcoming WSN Regional Forum in which the final version of the study will be launched.
The CMI youth workshop aims to allow the CMI-managed Mediterranean Youth for Water Network (MedYWat) to actively contribute to the "Water Security Nexus" study results, by drawing policy recommendations emanating from the Mediterranean youth and by stimulating and enhancing collaboration with key regional water stakeholders. The workshop will also serve as a regional platform of exchange between young water professionals, experts from the Mediterranean region, as well as CMI’s partners who contributed to the different outputs of the WSN project.
