Hydrology and Earth System Sciences (HESS) is an online and open access international journal published by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) for the dissemination of original research in hydrology. HESS complies with the EGU concept of "Public Peer Review" and "Interactive Public Discussions". After having passed a rapid access peer review process manuscripts submitted to HESS will be published first of all in the "Discussions" part of the website of the journal, being then subject to interactive public discussions initiated by alerting the scientific community. The results of the public peer-review and the interactive public discussions are then used for the final evaluation of the manuscript by the Editor and, eventually, for its publication on the website of the actual journal.

Water Alternatives: An interdisciplinary Journal on water, Politics and Development

WaA is an interdisciplinary journal addressing the full range of issues that water raises in contemporary societies. Its ambition is to provide space for alternative and critical thinking on such issues (see our manifesto for more details). WaA welcomes contributions that address any dimension of water resources development, management and use, and their relations with society and the environment. Water Alternatives will be published three times each year. The inaugural issue will be released on the 1st of June 2008. Submissions are welcome: you may already send your manuscripts to the editors and register in order to receive tables of contents when a new issue is published.
