Morocco to invest 574m dirhams in water, electricity and waste treatment
The Autonomous Authority of Water and Electricity Distribution of El Jadida (RADEEJ) said it plans to invest 574m dirhams in electricity, water and liquid waste treatment over the next 4 years. According to RADEEJ's report, liquid waste treatment is budgeted 335.87m dirhams, electricity 121.15m dirhams and water 116.95m dirhams.
For this year alone, the total amount of investments is 104.6m dirhams, which is directed for studies on drinking water provision, installation and replacement of canals, construction of a 500 cubic metre water tower, and replacement of connection-pipes aimed at more efficient and economical use of water. The Authority said it has linked 1,228 houses to the drinking water supply network in the past two years. (Morocco Times)
