Lessons learned for 4 twinning river basins
The EC funded STRIVER project “Strategy and methodology for improved IWRM - An integrated interdisciplinary assessment in four twinning river basins” (2006-2009) had a fruitful kick-off meeting. The project aims to develop methodologies to assess key challenges in integrated water resources management. Four twinning river basins have been selected, both in Asia and in Europe, namely the Sesan (Cambodia/Vietnam); the Tejo/Tagus (Portugal/Spain), the Tungabhadra (India) and the Glomma (Norway). The aim is to draw together in a systematic way the lessons learned from the experience of the four twinning basins and to develop an innovative strategy and methodology for improved integrated water resources management.
