News The filming of the Video of the 30th Anniversary of the Barcelona Convention has been completed

The film of the Video of the 30th Anniversary of the Barcelona Convention has been completed. Its crew, entirely composed by INFO/RAC-MAP staff. The footage was used for the production of a docu-fiction to present the great artistic, historic and natural legacy of our region, but also to provide adequate answers on the state of the Mediterranean environment, particularly on themes such as marine pollution from land-based sources, coastal development, biodiversity loss and safety of maritime transport. Such an “undertaking”, included among the pilot projects of the Information and Communication Strategy of the MSSD, would have been impossible without essential support from the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEA), the Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC), the Regional Activity Centre for Specially Protected Areas (SPA/RAC), as well as the Ministries of the Environment, of Foreign Affairs, of the Interiors and of Cultural Heritage of the 8 countries involved. The editing of the video has now commenced in the different language versions. A distribution phase among Euro-Mediterranean televisions, film festivals and exhibitions will then follow. Support from the countries remains crucial in this phase, to give the utmost visibility and authority to the Barcelona Convention and to its Contracting Parties, as well as to the themes of the Mediterranean Strategy of Sustainable Development. The video will presented soon.
A further proof that the sea and naturally water are, since time immemorial, vital for human beings and their existence.
