New strategy for ESA’s Living Planet Programme
Apprehending the large scale processes of global change faced by Earth is the new science strategy that will support Living Planet Programme of the European Space Agency (ESA). Conceived in the mid-1990s, the ESA Living Planet Programme is designed to provide data that underpin operational services, even if it will also contribute significantly to Earth Science through the collection of long time series of Earth observation. The Living Planet Programme includes the development of the space component for GMES in close cooperation with the European Commission.
