Jos Delbeke appointed Deputy Director-General at DG ENV

The European Commission has appointed last Jaunuary 15th, Mr Jos Delbeke as Deputy Director-General for the Environment (DG ENV). Under the guidance of the DG he will be responsible for the overall strategy and policy orientation and managing the international activities, whilst assuring coherence with other EU policies. A 52-year-old Belgian, he has held various positions in the DG ENV, until now as responsible for climate change and air, and prior to that in the Social Affairs DG.
