Algeria: Study on Updating the National Water Plan
The aim of the water resources sector support programme in Algeria,
initiated at the Algerian Government's request, under the MEDA programme, is
to contribute towards the long-term satisfaction of consumer water demand,
to restore the quality image of water sector services, to improve the
suitability of the parties involved for their assignments concerning
integrated management of water resources and to encourage saving water and
safeguarding water resources and the environment.
In this context, activities will be carried out to improve knowledge of and
update data on the water sector, and to improve and strengthen anticipation
and intervention capacities of the different parties involved in the
sector.
The aim of this contract is to carry out a study on updating the national
water plan (to achieve uniformity of methodology, to adapt sector priorities
taking into account reforms to refocus the administration on State functions
and to introduce regulation and concession systems).
Participation in the contract is open to all legal entities (either as
individuals or as part of a grouping - consortium - of candidates) who
reside in one of the European Union Member States or in a country or
territory in the regions covered and/or authorised by the specific legal
provisions applicable to the programme under which the contract is financed.
International organisations may also take part. Participation of natural
persons is governed by the legal provision applicable to the programme under
which the contract is financed.
