German-Tunisian development cooperation focuses on environmental protection
Along with France and Italy, Germany is one of Tunisia's major bilateral
development partners. German-Tunisian development cooperation focuses on
environmental protection (wastewater treatment, refuse disposal and
recycling, renewable energy and water management) as well as on modernizing
the Tunisian economy in preparation for the customs union with the EU.
Mr. Nadhir Hamada, Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development
Committee met on March 17, with Mr. Gloser, Deputy Minister at the German
Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of European affairs. The talks
focused on bilateral relations in the field of environment and the means to
promote them in the sectors related to renewable energy and operation of
wastewater especially in the interior regions.
