INBO & GWP will prepare a handbook on IWRM for the 5th WWF

The French Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs has allocated a grant of 100,000 Euro to the Global Water Partnership (GWP) for the production of a joint handbook with the International Network of Basin Organisations (INBO) on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at river, ake and aquifer basin levels, based on concrete worldwide experiences. Edited and printed in English and French, the handbook would be launched at the 5th World Water Forum in Istanbul (March 16-22, 2009) and then widely disseminated through GWP and INBO networks. The proposal for a handbook for practitioners was discussed at the TEC meeting held in Bahrain in February 2008, with the participation of Mr. Jean-François Donzier of INBO. A follow up to that meeting is planned for April to lay out the proposed content of the document, and address the organisational and financial arrangements for its preparation.
