Climate Change & Security: Challenges for German Development Cooperation
This new publication sets out by giving a quick overview of the main insights on the security implications of climate change. The authors then apply the findings to selected sectors (water; food and rural development; infrastructure, energy and transport; urbanisation; governance) and regions (MENA, Africa, Asia and Pacific, Latin America). The publication concludes with recommendations on strategy, policy and practice for German and international development cooperation.
The report was commissioned by the Sector Programmes Crisis Prevention and Conflict Transformation, Climate Protection Programme and Disaster Risk Management of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ).
