News Water Advocates / Intern position open / Washington DC

Water Advocates is a small but influential nonprofit advocacy and lobbying group in Washington DC (DuPont Circle area) dedicated to the global safe drinking water and sanitation challenge.  Water Advocates is seeking a full/time part/time paid intern (pref. senior or grad student) to assist with a wide range of projects that support our advocacy, lobbying and research efforts.  

Duties and responsibilities:

•    Assist in the development and execution of outreach plans and events
that support our objectives.

•    Research corporations, private foundations, U.S. government, civic and
faith-based organizations to determine their interest in the global safe drinking water issue.  Research US non-governmental organizations and maintain database.  

•    Research publications and journalists; monitor/clip media; maintain and
expand the media library; contribute to monthly newsletters, and media outreach.  

•    Administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

The position requires eagerness to participate in staff discussions, ability to take direction and constructive criticism, and ability to think and digest information quickly.  Intern will assist Water Advocates’ four staff members as needed, and will ideally have a knowledge and understanding of the global water and sanitation challenge.  Our website is www.wateradvocates.org.
