Switzerland supports National Platform coordination

Hyogo Framework for Action focal points and other high-level disaster risk reduction (DRR) representatives from Bangladesh, Jordan, Morocco, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Peru, Senegal, and Tajikistan met with their French, German and Swiss counterparts from a European network of National Platforms, during the International Disaster and Risk Conference in Davos, Switzerland. Substantially supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) this week-long workshop promoted the establishment and strengthening of National Platforms for DRR. Following UNDP and UN/ISDR secretariat information sessions and country presentations,
participants engaged in concrete action planning to improve their national coordination for DRR. The SDC plans to further support national coordination mechanisms in selected countries.
