The overall purpose of the contract is to ensure a smooth coordination between implementation of the Horizon 2020 (H2020) initiative under the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership and the activities in the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP) work programme to implement the Barcelona Convention, in the context of the European Neighbourhood Policy.  The tasks to be undertaken are: analysis of actions, plans and programmes under the Barcelona Convention and in the context of the MAP work programme (including that of its constituent regional activity centres and programmes);  preparation of recommendations for ensuring better synergies between MAP activities and the H2020 initiative, taking into account inter alia the H2020 Road Map, the European Environment Agency (EEA)-MAP Work Programme and the European Commission (EC)-MAP Joint Work Programme; and provision of technical support in implementing these recommendations, as appropriate, with a particular focus on the monitoring component of H2020.
