Director, Arab Water Academy

The Governing Board of the Abu Dhabi-based Arab Water Academy (AWA) seeks an outstanding individual to lead this international organization dedicated to capacity building in the water sector in the Arab region. Established under the aegis of the Arab Water Council (AWC), in partnership with the Environment Agency—Abu Dhabi (EAD) and the Dubai-based International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), the Academy aims to provide state-of-the-art training and development programs to water policy-makers, executives, managers and academicians across the Arab region and beyond.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the Academy and will lead its strategic development and plans. In this endeavour, the director will be accountable for Strategic innovation in programs, policies and course offerings and Organization Leadership and management.

Eligible candidates should have (1) a PhD or its equivalent in a relevant discipline; (2) minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years of managerial experience (3) minimum of 7 years of experience working with aid agencies and/or other international organizations. Fluency in English is essential, while knowledge of Arabic is a distinct advantage. The Academy is an equal opportunity employer and offers a highly competitive remuneration package.
