Syria and the EU have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the period 2008-2010

"Covering the National Indicative Programme 3 (NIP3), it sets the framework and priorities of EU-Syria cooperation with €110 mio in EU funds, in addition to €20 mio for 2007," the Delegation announced.

The agreement was signed by head of the Syrian State Planning Commission, Dr. Taysseer Al Redawi, and EU ambassador to the country, Vassilis Bontosoglou.

"This is an example of our profound engagement with the country and the region", the EU ambassador said.
