SMAP: Achievements and prospects for the future

Partners in the current phase of the SMAP programme are holding the final regional workshop in Alexandria on February 18 and 19, entitled ‘Achievements and Prospects for the Future'.

A press release said more than 150 officials and experts from the region and from Europe were expected to attend the event, which crowns a decade of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the field of environment and sustainable development.

SMAP III supports the Mediterranean Partner Countries in their efforts to prevent environmental degradation, improve environmental standards and integrate environmental considerations in their policies. Funded by the Regional Programme, it promotes sustainable development and supports high priority environmental related activities, through technical and financial assistance.
