News Oman to attend Tunis workshop on water

The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, will take part in a four-day workshop on the Integrated Management of Water Resources workshop which opens in Tunisia today. The workshop aims to familiarise participants with new concepts on water resources integrated management, enhance scientific and practical capacities, develop applied research and studies and improve water sector governance through a type of partnership meant to diminish the impact of climate changes.

The workshop will also discuss proposed amendments in legislations and water policies, the revising of institutional and administrative structures and conducting case study of water resources integrated management in the Arab world. The discussions include the rationalisation of water use and the financing of water projects and national strategies of the integrated management of water resources.
