AWC General Assembly Meeting

The AWC holds its General Assembly meeting in Cairo during 17-18December 2009. The meeting agenda will include voting for electing thenew Board of Governors members for the new ruling period (2010-2012).The predecessor BoG holds its meeting on Wednesday, 16 December,whereas the newly elected BoG will hold its 1st meeting on Friday, 18December 2009.

The AWC holds the 4th meeting of its Board of Governors in Cairo on Wednesday, 16 December 2009. The meeting will precede the 3rd General Assembly and electing the new Board of Governors.

Public Engagement on Water Management Workshop 

A start-up workshop on Public Engagement in Water Management took place in Cairo during 15-16 December 2009 at the Intercontinental City Stars Hotel. The workshop aimed at presenting the project scope and objectives, finalizing the project implementation plans; explaining methodology and coordinating the project activities with related regional work by partner organizations. The project is financed by the World Bank and aims at strengthening the AWC's capacity for assisting stakeholders improve monitoring and evaluation capacity as a tool for strengthening water governance in the Arab World.
