Programme Officer Strategic Development & Partnerships at RAIN Foundation

Job description

The RAIN Foundation is looking for a Programme Officer Strategic Development & Partnerships (Programme Officer SD&P) to take the lead and support in strategic organisational development, knowledge management, (inter)institutional learning and partnership development with preferably several years of relevant experience in development work. Currently, there is a great challenge and opportunity at RAIN to expand the strategic partnership network, in the South as well as in the North, in order to build and strengthen partnerships at (inter)national levels for funding purposes and strategic expansion of the RAIN programme. (S)he will increase RAIN's outreach by establishing and strengthening partnerships with relevant organisations in the Netherlands and internationally. (S)he plays an important role in communicating with and building partnerships on (inter)national levels for funding purposes (to support the Fundraising & Communications Expert) and expanding the RAIN programme.

RAIN is at the brim of expanding its scope and network. RAIN is therefore looking for a person with a strategic vision and practical insights for the further development of the RAIN programme itself as well as the integration of new opportunities into the programme. RAIN, being an implementation network, has various programme components which could be further developed and/or integrated into the programme, such as identifying and improving Research & Development topics, methodologies for water use and impact assessments, monitoring and evaluations, participatory approaches for implementation, multiple-use approach for rainwater and innovative financial mechanisms. The results of this strategy development will directly feed back into RAINs country programmes.

Next to this, RAIN wishes to expand its programme to other countries. The Programme Officer SD&P will be responsible for assessing the feasibility and applicability of the RAIN approach in other countries and will actively identify organisations in these countries to implement the RAIN programme.

RAIN is looking for a highly motivated person to complement the RAIN team. The RAIN Programme Management Unit (PMU) consists of a dedicated team of four and working closely together as a team is essential. Open communication, a clear team spirit, resourcefulness, flexibility and solidarity with team objectives, are necessary skills. At the same time, s/he should be able to work in a result-oriented, independent way and take initiative. The Programme Officer SD&P works under the Programme Manager of the RAIN programme.

The Programme Officer SD&P should be willing and available to travel to (potential) partners and donors, trips to international conferences and seminars may also be part of the job.
