Call for papers for the 2010 Gulf Research Meeting
The Gulf Research Meeting is an activity of the Gulf Research Foundation at University of Cambridge. The meeting seeks to provide an academic environment to foster Gulf studies and to promote scholarly and academic exchange among scholars working and/or having familiarity with the Gulf region - i.e. the countries of Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. The Gulf Research Meeting aims to identify issues of importance to the Gulf region and provide a basis for academic and empirical research into those fields. Particular emphasis is given to encourage young scholars to engage in the debate and take part in research collaboration.

The Gulf Research Meeting features a number of workshops depending on the quality of submissions for each prospective workshop outlined above. Each workshop will in the end have up to 2 directors and up to 15 full participants. Each workshop lasts for a maximum of two-and-a-half days during which each of the accepted papers are presented and discussed. Workshops will also promote collaborative research efforts and focus on the publication of papers. Workshops with less than 10 approved papers may be cancelled by GRCF.
Participants must have a good working knowledge of English. No Translation or interpretation services will be provided. Papers should be presented in English.
