News Best Water Project - Call for Entries

For the 2010 award for Best Water Project we are looking for an idea that stands out from the crowd and is leading the field.

We want to hear from organisations that have developed projects that deliver more efficient ways to provide clean water, reduce the environmental impact of processing it or help conserve this precious resource.

Entrants can be those businesses that have delivered these projects themselves or those who have facilitated change by offering advice or consultation services.

We want to know how their initiative demonstrates innovation and acts as an inspiration for others to follow.

We know water is a big subject, and the scope of this award reflects that.

We're interested in submissions that curb pollution, help water users adapt to climate change, reduce water use and improve efficiency of existing systems.

In short, if your project reduces the environmental impact of water use, we want to know about it.

This award is open to any company or public body, from those that treat our water to those who use it.

There is no restriction on the geographical location of projects but entrants should be based in the UK, Ireland or mainland Europe.

All quantitative claims on water use, and pollution or emissions cuts etc must be qualified by verifiable figures.

Eligible projects must have been completed no earlier than January 2009.

Entrants are invited to submit a brief case study of no more than 600 words, accompanies by up to three images.

Shortlisted projects will be invited to submit supplementary information.

Judges will be asked to consider performance across a broad variety of criteria - don't be put off if your project does not necessarily fit in with every one of these, as we are looking for a project that stands out from the crowd rather than one that simply ticks all the boxes of current good practice.

Closing date for entries May 26.
