News Policy Officer, Climate Change and Energy Programme, Brussels, Belgium

WWF, the global conservation organisation, is looking to fill a full-time position in its Brussels European Policy Office (WWF-EPO) to work as Policy Officer, Climate Change and Energy Programme.

The post holder will report to the head of the climate and energy team, thinking strategically about creating a shift toward a zero carbon economy, with particular emphasis on emissions trading and other economic instruments; industrial transition strategies; and finance opportunities. 

She/he will represent WWF's positions on these matters to the EU institutions and to European and international governments; cooperation and engagement with industry and other NGO stakeholders will be essential, as well as coordination of positions within WWF's network, particularly within Europe.

The successful candidate will have a university degree in a relevant discipline and at least four years of professional experience. He/she will have a good understanding of industrial economics and decision making; significant experience with relevant national or EU institutions, and possess strong communications and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is required and proficiency in another European language is advantageous.

The post will be offered under a Belgian contract.
