Responsibilities:
   
  1. Ensure timely and active support to MAP Institutional Meetings: Plan, coordinate and supervise the work of MAP Secretariat relevant to organizing  meetings of the relevant stakeholders; Ensure that recommendations and decisions of the Contracting Parties and of the Bureau meetings are managed efficiently; Prepare relevant documentation and budgets, write policy statements and prepare progress and evaluation reports; Support regional policy and legal developments of MAP relevance; Liaise with and maintain cooperation with the respective Intergovernmental Organisations (IGO) bodies and programmes. 2. Supervision of MAP Legal and Governance Issues:  Coordinate, monitor and report on MAP legal and governance issues, including oversight on legal and governance instruments and mechanisms.  3. Implementation of the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) Strategy: Serve as the focal point for implementation of the MAP Strategy for liaising with NGOs and IGO partners; Ensure the active participation of the relevant parties in MAP’s activities and encourage them to apply for MAP accreditation; Facilitate technical and financial support to relevant NGOs; Supervise and update the NGO database and the Directory of NGO/MAP list of partners; Follow up the implementation of MAP policy with civil society. 4. Support the planning and coordination of the MAP Work Programme and thematic decisions and contribute to their monitoring and implementation; Participate in meetings and planning sessions to review programmes and budgets;  Facilitate the flow of information between and among MAP components; Maintain close liaison with the Regional Activity Centres (RACs) and assist in applying a coherent and unified approach regarding the RACs’ host country agreements; Follow up on finalization of such agreements; Prepare and act as the Technical Secretary for the Executive Coordination Panel on MAP Programme.  5.   Perform other related duties as required.
