Nomination:New communication officer in the Mountain Parteship Secretariat
Elizabeth Fox has recently joined the MountainPartnership Secretariat at FAO as Communications Officer. Elizabeth, a US citizen, has a strong passion for mountains and a great sensitivity to diverse cultures, religions and people. She has a Masters in Political Science from l’Universita’ di Roma, La Sapienza and a BSc from the University of Alabama, USA. She has lived extensively abroad, from Italy to Bhutan and Nepal where she worked for ICIMOD with the Mountain Forum Secretariat and for IUCN Nepal on the HKKH Partnership Project. Most recently, Elizabeth worked at Bioversity International HQ, based near Rome, for a new initiative called the Indigenous Partnership for Agrobiodiversity and Food Sovereignty. She is also an active member of the IUCN-WCPA Mountain Protected Areas Network and the IUCN TILCEPA Mountain Social Policy Specialist Group.
Elizabeth is replacing Sara Manuelli who has moved onto a new position within FAO.
