On 24 January PLoSMed published the results of a systematic literature review on the effect of sanitation on soil-transmitted helminth infection. The research was carried out by a team at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute in Basel, with partial support from WHO/WSH. Call for Campylobacter experts

Water Safety Conference, Uganda, 13-15 November 2012
Kampala, Uganda will be the venue of the third Water Safety Conference, organized by the International Water Association (IWA) and the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), and co-sponsored by WHO. The event aims to bring together global practitioners, researchers and decision makers to discuss best practices and emerging trends for improving the safety of global water supplies. IWA Drinking Water Safety Awards – NEW in 2012
The IWA Drinking Water Safety Award scheme recognizes excellence in the management of drinking water quality.
