News Post 2015 Water Thematic Consultation Report

Responding to a growing desire for active participation in shaping the future development agenda, the World We Want 2015 thematic and national consultations facilitated a global conversation seeking views and opinions from people world wide.  As part of this larger effort, "The Post 2015 Water Thematic Consultation Report" synthesises the active thematic consultation on defining the role of water in the post 2015 development agenda.  Summarising the sub-consultations on water, sanitation and hygiene, water resources management and wastewater management and water quality, the report also reveals a growing desire for a development framework that will reduce inequalities around water through rights-based approaches to service provision and governance.  The World We Want Thematic Consultation on Water was facilitated under the umbrella of UN-Water, co-lead by UNICEF and UN-DESA and co-hosted by Jordan, Liberia, Mozambique, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
