Mourad Ezzine: New Manager of the Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI)

As of September 16, 2013; Mourad Ezzine has taken over as Manager of the CMI, on appointment by Inger Andersen, World Bank Vice-President for the MENA region. Mourad, a Tunisian national, has long since been engaged with the CMI: As Sector Manager for Education, the post he held prior to joining the Center, Mourad was a prime driver of the CMI work program not only in his field, but for our knowledge economy approach, as well as for our overall strategic objectives.

After joining the World Bank in 1992 as an Education Specialist in the MNA region, he has since held various positions of increasing responsibilities in Africa and MNA. Before joining the Bank, he was Director of Planning and Information Systems in the Tunisian Ministry of Education and held management level positions in a Tunisian private development bank.  

Mourad brings a wealth of experience, zeal and ambition to the CMI and is committed to confronting the considerable challenges posed by the regional transformation by building upon the momentum of the successful CMI programs for tackling issues associated with economic integration, sustainable growth, and participatory governance.  Mourad will continue to build stronger links and partnerships within the region and carry on our hard work towards giving practical support for the ongoing transitions and for regional integration.
