Palestine: New Head of Palestinian Water Authority

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree last August, which requires the appointment of Mazen Ghoneim, new head of the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) (with the degree of Minister), succeeding Shaddad Attili. 

Ghoneim has served as Under Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, before the President issued his decree. 

On the other hand, another presidential decree appointed Dr. Shaddad Attili a minister in the Negotiations Affairs Department, responsible on the water chapter in the final status negotiations. He will be also an Advisor for water and environment to the Palestine Liberation Organization.
