SWOS at the 3rd Hydrospace workshop
The 3rd Hydrospace workshop was organised by the European Space Agency (ESA) in Frascati from 15-17 September 2015. While the number of in situ monitoring stations are decreasing worldwide, Earth Observation satellites are providing more and more datasets with always better spatial and temporal resolutions. World class research activities and results were presented covering application such as river discharge estimation, water quality (e.g. Bathing Water Quality monitoring), evapotranspiration, floodplain management, and water balance modeling. For ESA and EU member states space agencies, these workshops are providing valuable inputs to guide their future satellites missions. The Satellite Wetlands Observation Services, SWOS project was presented during the poster session of the workshop by EMWIS, one of the user partner of the project led by JOP and financed by the EU Research and Innovation programme Horizon2020.
