15th African Water Association Congress

WATER AND SANITATION: WHAT PERSPECTIVES FACING THE ENERGY CHALLENGES AND CLIMATE CHANGE?

 The African Water Association will organise its 15th Congress in Kampala, Uganda, from March 15th
to 18th 2010 with the following theme: “Water and Sanitation: what perspectives facing the energy
challenges and climate change”.

The need to convene to enhance exchanges has always been necessary, as well as our willingness
to improve professionalism when it comes to ensuring access to quality drinking water and sanitation
services for the African population. Today, the issue is not only to achieve the commitment to reduce
to half by 2015, the population without sustainable access to drinking water and adequate sanitation
services, but also to face a more difficult global economic environment caused by global warming and
the increased cost of energy. This justifies the Kampala Congress main theme.
