WG meeting, Madrid, 2010-02-17
The MED Working Group on Water Scarcity and Drought (WS & D) took place on the 17/02/2010 at the CEDEX (www.cedex.es ) premises in Madrid (Spain).
The main topics tackled during the meeting (the agenda is under preparation) were:
- Reminder on the outputs of the last WG report
- Presentation and discussion of indicators used by countries or river basins on WS & D
- Progress of the survey on data availability (based on the European Environment Agency approach for voluntary reporting on water quantity)
- Water scarcity and drought / crisis management plans: key data for decision making
- Preparation of the next report / publication on WS&D in the Mediterranean
Participants had also the opportunity to join for the two following days the "International Water Scarcity and Drought Conference: The path to climate change adaptation",Madrid on 18 - 19 February (see: http://www.conferenciasequia.es/web/ )
