Objectives - This program, based on the creation of an information system, is composed of several shutters:

* Inventory the inventories make it possible to evaluate the value of the wetlands in order to establish a diagnosis, which makes it possible to define priorities of conservation and management for each area as well as the development of an analysis on a Mediterranean scale, European and world, de the state of the wetlands and of their.
* Development of plans of management and programs of follow-up. These plans of management are conceived according to a common methodology, starting from a good knowledge of the natural environment, human activities and with the participation of the local actors. They must make it possible to reconcile the constraints of the conservation of the ecosystems and the landscapes, their values and their functions with the stakes of the local economic development.
* In parallel, it is necessary to develop, on the basis of common criterion, of the programmes of follow-up of the key factors which can affect the state of conservation of the wetlands. These programmes of follow-up of the quality of water, the habitats, the frequentation, will make it possible to establish a fast alarm system and to evaluate the plans and the actions of management, in order to improve them. The programmes of follow-up of the quality of water will contribute in particular to the application of the criteria established in Directive 2000/60/CE Cadre on Water.
* Durable management of the human activities the objective is to integrate durable tourism like tool of assistance into the management of the wetlands, by a control of the frequentation and the development of programmes of sensitizing of the local populations and visitors.
* Communication, formation and exchange the purpose of this transverse shutter is to facilitate experience sharing on the level of the managers, the local actors and the decision makers, to work on general orientations on the level of the local communities and to adopt common steps to facilitate the comparisons.
