The workshops focused on Sharing Mediterranean Pilot River Basins (PRB) experiences and discussion on concepts of river basin management plans as drivers for integrated resource management:
Day 1: The PRB Mediterranean Dimension
Day 2: Linking rural development and land degradation mitigation with river basin management plans
Day 3: Mediterranean Component of the EU Water Initiative: Focus on Integrated Water Resources Management
Workshops main objectives:
- Review Mediterranean PRB experiences and identify key issues for further action and coordination
- Open the discussion on optimising integrated resources management using River Basin Management Plans as drivers
- Enhance cooperation by establishing linkages at operational level among various environmental strategies in the Mediterranean area
