EU-SMAP

Folder Steps & Projects

SMAP focus on practical actions on the ground, which should lead to tangible results as regards environmental protection, capacity building and improvement of legislative, regulative and institutional frameworks. These actions are mainly based on pilot or demonstration projects for the programme priority fields.

These actions are launched at:

  • the regional level, funded by the European Commission as technical assistance projects (selected on the basis of specific call for proposals, see below)
  • the national level, within the National Indicative Programmes (NIP), with some bilateral support from the European Commission

The SMAP regional monitoring and  support unit provides a list of all the SMAP regional projects. Actions launched at the national level are difficult to list as information source are dispersed.
